Tuesday, 8th June, Diwaniya: “The Sponsorship System in Kuwait” by Dr. Khalid Al-Jenfawi
From Kuwait University in the department of English Literature. What is the meaning of “Kafeel” translated sponsor/guarantor? What are the rules and regulations regarding: private employers, employees in the government and private sector, obtaining maids, drivers, etc? Kuwait has implemented new labor laws rectifying the sponsorship system, which has hitherto been in favor of employers to the detriment of employees. He will also shed some light on visa traders who extort some money from job-seekers promising them satisfactory jobs only to dump them in the end. All are welcome on April 6th at 7pm.

Thursday, 10th June, Movie Night: ““My Name is Khan” 7pm. A 2010 Bollywood film directed by Karan Johar.
Rizwan Khan, a Muslim from the Borivali section of Mumbai, suffers from Aspergers syndrome, a form of high-functioning autism. Rizwan marries a Hindu single mother, Mandira, in San Francisco. After 9/11, Rizwan is detained by authorities who mistake his disability for suspicious behavior. Following his arrest, he meets Radha, a therapist who helps him deal with his situation and his affliction. Rizwan then begins a journey to meet US President Obama to clear his name.

A splendid inside view of a most unique Kuwaiti home which has earned its title as the "House of Mirrors" For a grand display of art from two very dedicated artists. This tour is for adults only. Tuesday, 15th June, Diwaniya: “Road Traffic Situation in Kuwait: A Discouraging Picture” by Dr. Yusouf Yaqoub, 7pm
Traffic congestions and jams, poor public transport, amazing accidents, traffic violations, scarcity of parking, driver behaviors, pollution, accessibility, etc. are all significant transportation problems in Kuwait . These tragic and chaotic complications are made by us and need special and careful attention and countermeasures. Kuwait Municipality , Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Works, legislation authorities and other governmental institutes tried/try viable solutions, but they try wrongly. In his 25-minute presentation, Dr. Yousef Yaqoub – an engineer will shed some light on these problems and many more.

Tuesday, 22nd June, Diwaniya: “Does Hijab Represent the Oppression or the Liberation of Women” by Sharifa Carlo, 7pm.
Muslim Women From a wide variety of countries wear the scarf/veil. Why do women choose to cover themselves? Does this confirm they are oppressed and Submissive? What is it like to be a covered Woman? How are they treated by Muslims and Non-Muslims? Sharifa Carlo will answer all these questions and many more.

Tuesday, 29th June, Diwaniya: “K’S PATH-Working to Protect Kuwait’s Habitat” by Olivia Kimble 7pm.
The Kuwait Society for the Protection of Animals and their Habitat is a revolutionary new organization bridging the gap between animals and humans in Kuwait. The last two decades have seen significant change in Kuwait. Several severe environmental catastrophes coupled with the military devastation from the 1991 gulf war have had a cataclysmic effect on Kuwait’s ecosystem.
